Zoho Desk Domain Verification: what it does

Verify domain ownership before applying to your help center.

Zoho Desk domain verification confirms that your organization controls an email domain before Desk sends or receives email on behalf of that domain. Verified domains let Desk authenticate outbound messages, host mailboxes, and apply domain-level settings across the Zoho suite.

What is it — 2-4 sentences answering "what does this feature do in Zoho DESK"

Domain verification proves ownership of a custom email domain so Zoho Desk can send and receive support emails using that domain. After verification you can add sender addresses, enable mail hosting or route email to Desk, and set authentication records (SPF/DKIM) so recipients trust messages from your support address. Verified domains can also sync across Zoho Directory and other Zoho apps in the same organization, reducing repeated verification steps. [8][3]

When to use it

  • You want Desk to send support replies from support@yourcompany.com rather than a generic Zoho address, and you need the messages to pass SPF/DKIM checks. [3]
  • You plan to host or migrate mailboxes to Zoho Mail for support aliases used in Desk and must prove domain ownership before mailboxes go live. [3][8]
  • Your organization manages multiple Zoho apps and you need a domain verified once so directory-managed sender addresses and domain-level settings propagate to Desk and other services. [8][5]
  • You face deliverability issues (bounced or flagged support emails) and want to add or confirm TXT/CNAME records to authenticate Desk mail traffic. [3]
  • You set up a branded help center or portal URL tied to a custom domain and must verify the domain before mapping and enabling HTTPS. [6][4]

Domain verification for Desk is managed at the organization level through Zoho Directory or the Zoho Mail Admin Console. In Zoho Directory go to Admin Panel > Organization > Domains to add and verify a domain; this syncs verified domains to connected Zoho apps including Desk, and lets you manage sender verification centrally. For email authentication records (TXT/CNAME/DKIM) use the Zoho Mail Admin Console’s Domains section where the console generates the verification value you add to your DNS or website, or choose Domain Connect for supported registrars.
