How to delete custom views in Zoho CRM

Remove unused custom views from your Zoho CRM modules programmatically.

Deleting Custom Views in Zoho CRM

Custom views help you organize and filter your data in ways that suit your workflow. When a view is no longer needed, you can remove it to keep your interface clean and focused.

Why this matters

As your business processes evolve, custom views you created earlier may become redundant or outdated. Deleting unused views reduces clutter in your navigation menu and helps your team focus on the filters that actually drive their daily work. This is especially important in larger Zoho CRM implementations where dozens of views might accumulate over time.

Step-by-step

Step 1. Navigate to the module containing your custom view.

Open Zoho CRM and go to the module where your custom view exists—this could be Contacts, Leads, Deals, or another list-based module. The deletion process is consistent across these areas.

Step 2. Locate the custom view you want to remove.

In the left sidebar or view selector, find the custom view in your list of available views. You may need to scroll if you have many views saved [3].

Step 3. Access the delete option.

Right-click on the custom view name. A context menu will appear with several options [3].

Step 4. Select Delete from the menu.

Click the Delete option in the menu that appears [3].

Step 5. Confirm the deletion.

A confirmation dialog box will appear asking you to verify the action. Click Ok to proceed with removing the view [3].

Once confirmed, the custom view is permanently removed from your Zoho CRM instance. Unlike some other deletions in Zoho, custom view deletions cannot be undone, so ensure you no longer need the view before confirming [2].

Common pitfalls

  • Deleting a view you still need: Since deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed, double-check that no team members rely on the view before removing it. If the view is set as someone's default view, consider notifying them first.
  • Confusing custom views with standard views: Zoho CRM provides predefined views (like "All Contacts" or "My Leads") that cannot be edited or deleted. You can only delete views you or your team have created [3].

What to check

  • Verify the view no longer appears in your view list after deletion.
  • Confirm that any team members who may have used this view have switched to an alternative view for their workflow.
  • If the deleted view was set as a default view for any user, ensure they have selected a new default view to avoid confusion.
